TransAsia Airways GE235 On February 4, 2015, TransAsia flight GE235 hit a bridge and crashed into the Keelung River in New Taipei City, just east of the Taiwanese capital Taipei. The fatal accident caused 43 deaths while 15 survived. The flight was operated with a 10-month-old ATR 72-600 aircraft, which was the second TransAsia Airways ATR aircraft involved in fatal accident within 7 months. Germanwings 4U9525 An Airbus A320-211 operated by Germanwings, bound from Barcelona to Düsseldorf, crashed into French Alps after co-pilot Andreas Lubits, who had previously been treated for suicidal tendencies, intentionally descent the aircraft while the other pilot locked out of the cockpit. All 144 passengers and 6 crew members were killed. Malaysian Airlines MH370 On March 8, 2014, Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 en route to Beijing disappeared with 239 people on board at south of Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island in the Gulf of Thailand. The debris of the aircraft was finally discovered in July, 2015.
