After exploring where watches are made, let’s focus on where they are mainly bought in Switzerland: the city of Interlaken, in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Located between two lakes, this city forms the access point to one of the highest mountains in Europe: the Jungfraujoch. It became famous because of the magnificence of the landscape and also because the top of the mountain at 3471 meters is accessible by a train built in 1912! This made Interlaken a central point for tourists visiting Europe and also wishing to buy watches. And this is why this small town of 6,000 inhabitants is the fourth largest city in Europe in terms of commercial turnover after Paris, Milan, and London. Kirchhofer is the main retailer in Interlaken, providing all kinds of watches from the most accessible to the most complicated. The area is so famous that brands like to organize events – like TAG Heuer, who invited the famous Chinese famous singer G.E.M (Get Everybody Moving) to perform on the glacier of the Jungfraujoch. Jean-Claude Biver, TAG Heuer CEO and head of the watch division of the LVMH group, also shared his views about the fundamental identity of TAG Heuer
