It may not be in pristine condition, but it's a Montblanc 242 with a super-springy nib. i just made a video of a Montblanc 138, i think is the frist one on youtube!
-
Now i know where does the celluloid found in the modern omas celluloid pens come from
-
The 144 did not USED to be c/c I have a 50s 144 that is piston fill. Why they made it cheap crap now we'll never know.
-
Great video. But I'm not so sure about your interpretation of Montblanc's model number system. For example, the 144 is a c/c filler despite the middle "4". There are also Meisterstück pens that don't start with a "1" like the "644", "74", "772".
-
It's sad how you acquired these pens, but I'm sure the previous owner would like his Mont Blanc to be appreciated as it really is beautiful.
-
I like this pen too it look classic
-
242 (I have a black one) should have TWO cap bands. Could those groves be from the second cap band being lost or pried loose?
-
wow, what a fortunate man you are! Awesome pen, it writes so beautifully!
-
The wear and tear is kind of charming in its own way
-
Regarding Opera Elements, its too bad it doesn't come with aligator-like box or ink anymore.
-
Very nice pen and very nice finish. I like the size and look very good for everyday carry.

Thanks for your great advice as usual. I just ordered a loom and it should be looming around the Royal Mail service somewhere. Do you know if Thewritingdesk is a reliable dealer? Am I likely to get a sexy nib out of the box? Oh and one more thing, your awesome quirky personality and speciality is psychology has me overly fascinated. Is there any chance you can make a video just about you. I think getting to know more about you (autobiography) would be awesome as you seem so cool. Cheers! :)

Hey there Doc Brown! Another brilliant video has reaffirmed my belief that you my favourite human being. I have been Lamy safarying for a while now (3 years) and wish to move on to a smoother writer. My budget is 70 gbp and I'm interested in the pelikan m200, parker sonnet, sheaffer prelude and the f.c. looooom. I only care about smooothness and a nice wet bold finish and comfort (not really looks). Any suggestions for the smoothest nib you've used under that budget? Thanks for reading this :)

"Look at This!!" said Mr Brown.
-
A very pretty pen, I'm really not a fan of the typical black Mont Blancs, they look and feel a bit cheap to me. That one looks the part.
-
Even perfect-er then! {YouTube didn't like my less than symbol - "anything less than 6" is perfect for me"}
-
Cute pen; I like the size. Anything - 6" is perfect for me. {This is not a comment}
-
A real beauty, just about everything about it meets my spec for the perfect pen. Especially the nib, far more suitable for day to day use than a true wet noodle. I hope you get years of enjoyment from it.

You need to work on your spirals ;)

Only thing I can say: wow! The finish is one of the most beautiful things I've seen on a pen. Montblanc was in a really good mood when it made this little fellow. Yes it's small but who cares? Capped is decently sized and so in conclusion, wow! Enjoy :)
