Lucerne Switzerland is one of the most beautiful places on earth, looking over a beautiful lake with a mountain scape behind it. In Brunnen I stay next door at the Schmidt Alpha. Just a suggestion for everyone. When in CH don't expect Mexican food that you would get in Mexico, California, Texas, etc. Eat the Cordon Bleu, Schnitzel, Rosti, fish dishes!!

very nice visuals and editing.. the video is very good quality..I wonder what was your video camera? and the video from the SLR was nice too as it had a lens with a longer focal length and could show the scale of the scenery ( I moved to Lucerne 1 year ago and love it here)

So did you ever find out why things are so expensive there? If not I might be able to chime in a bit. It's simple, wages are pretty high. For instance, I used to do the dishes at a restaurant as a college kid, or flip burgers at McDonald's and I've never made less than 25 USD an hour. Compare that to the minimum wage in Germany 8 Euros, or some US States 7.25 USD. I made 110k in my first job out of college. Thus, while there is no actual minimum wage here, a wage below 4000 USD a month is considered a rather low salary. I needed about 2k a month just to get by as a college student.
