After completing the GR20 in 2012, we decided to circumnavigate the Mont Blanc Massif following the TMB trail (including its alternative routes). We started and finished in Les Houches (anti-clockwise direction), covering a distance of roughly 200 km with 10 km of ascent/descent and passes through parts of Switzerland, Italy and France. We carried our own sleeping gear comprising of tent, sleeping bag and mat, and together with clothing, paraphernalia, and 3-4 liters of water, our backpack's averaged 17 Kg in weight. We enjoyed our meals at numerous eateries along the trail. It was a tough trek with beautiful views and amazing moments. The TMB long distance walk is catered to trekkers spending their night in the many available accommodations/refuges along the route. Most locations have options for campers, however, the camp fields are usually away from the main accommodation buildings. Pitching up your tent is free at most places, but when using the shower, a fee is charged. Beware the TMB is not considered a 'cheap long distance walk' and during the summer months availability and food at the lodges is not guaranteed without reservations. ABOUT THIS FILM: we used two small cameras with HD video recording. After the entire trip we found out one of the camera's audio recording had completely failed. Therefore this edited video contains lots of music songs to cover up the mute clips. COMMENTS & LIKES are appreciated! QUESTIONS are welcomed.
