Top of the World - Downhill mtb Trail, Whistler Bike Park - GoPro HD

This is ALL of the Alpine Downhill Mountain Bike trail called "Top of the World" at Whistler! I rode it with my cousin Brian and it was a lot of fun! I went to Whistler B.C. with my cousin Brian Olthuis on August 27, 2012 and we had a great day of mountain biking, getting lots of runs in. I didn't film too much GoPro footage, but I wanted to record this new trail Top of the World because it's new and I think you guys would be interested in seeing what this unique downhill trail is like. I also recored a few other mtb trails at Whistler that day, you can find those on my channel. Top of the World was a lot of fun, it's flowy single track the whole way down. It can be pretty rocky but not too technical though. I was trying to shred as fast as I could so it would look good on camera. This video was filmed with a GoPro HD Hero 2 I used the 1080 resolution at the ultra wide field of view at 30fps to record this. ***In order to record the audio in this video, I put my Zoom H1 digital audio recorder in my back pocket.*** Please Comment, and give a thumbs up to support mountain biking videos! Do most people just rent a bike when they come here? I hear it can really thrash your bike.

I just watched this beginning to end - wow, great scenery!
The run looks like a ton of fun. -
This is where a 29" bike really has an advantage over a 24" or a 26"

Bike to work day should be everyday..... employers needs to provide places to park and lock bicycles and encourage employees to ride a bicycle to work. Children should be riding a bike to school instead of being dropped off by their parents. Cities need to do more to provide safe walking and biking trails and paths that connect homes, schools and businesses. Speak up and ask for more bicycle paths in your community.

Good story for this trail. I was in whistler this summer and had bought the ticket to ride this. It's usually a once in a year endeavour so I think it's worth it. Anyways, I hadn't been to whistler before and I thought that you were supposed to take the Garbo lift to the peak chair not realizing it was accessed by the gondola. Anyways, I had saved this trail for last as I thought it would be a nice closure to the day. When I got to the top of the Garbo lift I asked the guy where the peak chair was and he said I went in the wrong lift. It was 4:30 at the time and the peak closed at 5 so I had half an hour to hike to the gondola lift station. Long story short I got there being the last person up the chair and I tell you this was the most rewarding ride down
