The Swiss Alps Part 2: Voyage to the "Top of Europe", the Jungfraujoch Train Station
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
We began our day in Gimmelwald just above the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Then we went down into the valley and up the other side where we eventually began our hike to the train station at Kleine Scheidegg, which took us to the highest train station in Europe (11,333 feet).

This trip was amazing. We did the top of Europe train last Friday. One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Great to see it at a different time of year too. Thanks for sharing your fantastic footage ;)

Sorry have to disagree with others. Great to hear the words and tome of voice of young people feeling what those mountains create within many of us who call them home. Even though I live in CA when I am there I feel what is in their voices and when I watch the video I am home. Besten Danke fur alles!

How do you afford it all man?

Hey guys....great job. I travel there twice a year and never get tired of the views....I even watch your and my videos over and over again. You are right ......they really, really, really do not do the moment justice! It is also great to hear in the voices of you two the wonderment of the CH experience.

Thanks for sharing your awesome videos! I had to laugh when Tim got shocked, sorry Tim, but I was born and raised on a dairy farm, here in the States, and I learned the hard way, at a very early age. I will be visiting Switzerland at the end of August and am staying in Zermatt, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Gruyeres, in each of these villages for two nights. I can't wait! Your beautiful videos made me even more excited! My family roots are from Switzerland, 1692. Heaven awaits me! ;)

I HAVE been to Hawaii, yes. Not lately though. My girlfriend has never been and we were planning a 2014 trip there. Not sure now if we are going to do that or Turks & Caicos but if we come to Hawaii I will definitely let you know! Maybe I can talk Tim into coming and bringing his gal too. The guy bailed on me for Alaska this year, but I'm still going. LOL. He's in for Greece and Turkey though!
-
Have you been to Hawaii yet? if you ever come to the Big Island we must have lunch, I feel I know you and Tim, I have been on several vacations with you guys, ha ha

We WERE hungry when we got back LOL. We had pizza, believe it or not. Pizza and beer. We were offered homemade pumpkin soup, but at $18 a bowl I had to decline. :-P As for the world travels, we're still at it! We went to Cambodia, Thailand, and South Korea the year after this. Then last year it was Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, etc.) and Russia. We just went on a double date with our girlfriends to the Dominican Republic. Next up is Greece and Turkey, then China and Japan, then South America!

This was the Canon HF-S11. I have since upgraded to a Canon HF-G10. But heck, I still think this one is great. It's actually 1080p, but when I uploaded I chose 720p.

We were there in early October. Around the 5th if I recall. We got lucky with the weather though. We were told that the two weeks before we rolled into the area clouds were out in force, and there was a great deal of fog.

Are you and Tim still traveling all over the world?do you have relatives that own a Travel agency? I must have lived here in a past life, I feel at home there looking at all the houses and scenery. Towns are built right on sides of the mountains.Your walk back from eating your sandwich I would have been hungry again when I got back to the little room

What camera did you use?
-
Hmmmm, in general I didn't notice the high altitude when I was breathing, BUT...at one point I REALLY did. The part of this video where I'm pointing and explaining where we are...I was out of breath terrible because we had to walk a ways uphill in the high altitude. The uphill climb would be somewhat tiring if it was at 2,000 feet. But at over 10,000 feet it was quite rough!
-
Was the air thin and hard to breathe when you got up pretty far? I am so surprised to see towns build right on the edge of cliffs, if you would stumble you could fall over a cliff. I do want you to know by you taking the video i am able to see this place I could never afford to go, but I am there through your eyes. Love and light

What time of year where you guys here? I am going but I don't want to hit any snow. Is end of May too early? Or end of October too late?
-
Thanks again wingsonmyback! :-)

I dont care what anyone says I play this video at least once every 2 weeks. There is something about it that makes me feel like I am the one behind the camera and am there myself. Really relaxes me. Love this video
