The North Face® Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® is renowned as one of the most respected ultra trail courses in the world. The race consists of a 168km circuit of Mont-Blanc, crosses three countries, and covers ten passes at more than 2,000m in height, with an accumulated positive height gain of 9,600m. 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the race, and 18 of The North Face athletes from 10 different nations will be competing this year. i dont agree that humans evolved for running long distances... if we had, we would be running on four legs instead of two. i do agree with the latter half of your comment though

Humans evolved to run for extremely long distances, it's a part of genetic make up, however now the majority of us have become lazy and will never use our body to our full potential.
