Viewed from every angle, you will discover the artisanal beauty and precision of this delicate timepiece: The Montblanc Tourbillon Cylindrique Geosphères Night Sky Limited Edition, which we've just revealed at the ‪#‎MontblancWW2015‬ booth. The precisely beating heart of the Montblanc Manufacture Calibre is a one-minute tourbillon. Its cylindrical balance spring is crafted in-house in the Montblanc Manufacture in Villeret. Unlike conventional hairsprings wound side-by-side, the cylindrical shape eliminates a slight eccentricity of the centre of gravity, which is crucial to the regularity of the watch’s rate. In tribute to the significance of celestial navigation on Vasco da Gama’s journey, the aventurine dial depicts the night sky of the southern hemisphere. Its lower half exhibits the spectacular scenery of the double worldtime indication, standing out from the anthracite grainé back- ground with opaline finishing. To show the course of day and night around the world, two discs with 24-hour time zones simultaneously revolve around the two fixed, hand-engraved globes with hand-painted “peinture miniature”. The delicately crafted “rose des vents” at 6 o’clock com- pletes this fascinating homage to the legendary journey of Vasco da Gama.
