Discover the details of the 24-hour hometime display of the Montblanc Heritage Chronométrie Dual Time Vasco da Gama watch, that shows the night sky with the Southern Cross constellation above the Cape of Good Hope. The 24-hour hometime display at 12 o’clock indicates not only the time at home, but also the course of day and night. It is linked to a blued hour hand in central position, whereas the central, red gold- plated hour and minute hands indicate the local time. While travelling, the hours can be adjusted via the crown – without losing the home- time or the minutes. Inspired by Vasco da Gama’s voyage, the 24-hour hometime display depicts the night sky with the Southern Cross constellation above the Cape of Good Hope. Below, at 6 o’clock, the small seconds subdial shows a detailed map of the world. Its slightly cambered form is reminiscent of the round shape of a globe. The limitation to 238 pieces derives from the height of Cape Point Peak, 238 metres above sea level.
