Abbey o Kman314, for ur kind information I am a geologist and I want to tell you that there was a plate the was separated from ancient super giant continent in southern hemisphere. Indo-Australian plate was separated from Gondwana land and collided with much larger Eurasian plate in Northern Hemisphere which led to the formation of Himalayas.

According to my knowledge, formation of Himalayan fold mountain does not involve subduction today

India and Australia aren't on the same plate

I wish you that you mention about the Tethys Sea as well. Also, the subduction process and geosyncline should also be well noted.
