Switzerland's Jungfrau Region: Interlaken and Swiss Military Secrets
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
Interlaken, one of the Alps' original resorts, is a useful springboard for alpine thrills. And, when the famous peaks get socked in by clouds, you can choose from some interesting lowland options. In this town, four innocent-looking hay barns conceal a network of tunnels connecting several big guns. Many of these once top-secret sites are now open to the public as museums. Was in "Interlaken" for my honeymoon in April of '83.Best trip ever and now i know why all the "tour guides" and "locals" did NOT want to talk about anything military. You learn something new every day..:)

The Swiss defense system is badass. Houses are rocksolid. Bunkers and guns are in almost every house. It keeps invaders busy to dig the people out. The bunker coverage rate is 110%. Government emergency food supply for the whole population will last for one year.
The lack of natural recources and the difficult landscape prevented Switzerland from being attacked. It is possible to destroy the country but it is impossible to take it over. -

SIG-550 Army Version is our main weapon and we also have SIG Sauer P220 and SIG SP 2009 Pistols, 7.5mm MG 51, LMG FN Minimi (5.56mm), 12.7mm Browning M2 and a lot more.

almost evryman between 18-35 has a up to date weapon so yes i think they have modern weapons. beacuse they stil have obligatory military service so i think they would be ready

What type of weaponry do you think the Swiss have? Muzzle loading rifles? Broadswords and halberds dressed like the Pontifical Swiss Guards? Or maybe you think all they carry is a Swiss knife. Sheesh!

Switzerland is expensive??? I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I go to Switzerland once a year and I find it cheap as hell. Maybe except for clothes, everything is cheaper in Switzerland, even in Geneva or Zurich: food, public transport, gifts, luxury goods (watches, cigars, parfums, etc.)... Come to Sao Paulo or Rio to find out what expensive means...
