Located on the north side of the Swiss Alps, the height of Mt Stanserhorn is 1'898 meters above sea level. Mt Stanserhorn is overlooking Lake Lucerne Switzerland and provides on top a unique panoramic view of the Swiss Alps. There are higher mountains near Mt Stanserhorn like Mt Pilatus and Mt Titlis, but on none of them a visitor can enjoy such a great 360° stunning panorama! An old nostalgic funicular and a one of a kind Cabrio Cable Car offer a rich in variety ride to the top of Mt Stanserhorn. The funicular was constructed by two local pioneers. The first opening of this funicular was in 1893. The first section of the ride to the top of Mt Stanserhorn is done by this very old funicular with its wooden cars. Since July 29, 2012 the brand new and world's first Cabrio Cable Car takes over the passengers for the ride on the second section. It's really amazing to feel the wind in the hair when approaching the top of Mt Stanserhorn! What a contrast when the "time traveler" first rides that old unicular and then the ultra high tech Cabrio Cable Car!
