Stan's Notubes Tubeless System installation
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
How to install Stans Notubes tire system. Installation Guide: Deflate and dismount the tyre. Remove the inner tube. See the yellow tape; this is the tape that seals the rim toward the spokes. This is Stans rim tape that is required to make rim air tight. Install the valve and tighten the nut. Mount the tyre back on the rim and try to inflate it. If the tyre inflates and stays inflated for a couple of minutes it means you can make tubeless with this combination of rim and tyre. You may need the air compressor for the job but most certainly a big pump. You cannot inflate the tire with small portable pumps. Deflate the tyre and take it off the rim on one small section. Shake the bottle and pour sealant into the tyre. Turn the wheel with open section up and mount the tyre back on the rim. Inflate the tyre. Now shake the wheel and turn it around so the sealant will equally distribute inside and seal all the gaps. Place the wheel on a bucket and wait for a min or two then turn it over. Check for the air bubbles with the soap and water. If you see any shake the wheel some more until the sealant seals the holes.

Classic song. I love it so much. Bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum...

This video is unclear about the yellow tape. Is there existing tape on the rim that has to be removed with the tube? Does the Tubeless System have a different tape that must be installed (yellow tape)?

whats tubeless is it like you have no innertube?

Key to success in tubeless mounting
If the tire is easy to mount, it will be a PITA to seat (even with compressor)
If the tire is hard to mount, it will seat the bead with a hand pump.
The bead needs a good seat before any air is applied for best results. -
that's a cool tire. where can I buy them?

Getting the tyre to bead correctly is an important part that you missed out. Using soapy water on the bead when you first mount it can help it slip into the correct position as well as inflating to 50-60psi and pulling on the bead that's unseated.
Its important to help get the tyre seal and spin true with the wheel. -
How long can sealant hold up?? 6mth or 1yr??

There is a crowdfunding campaign that makes tubeless even simpler. Feel free to check it out:
