Serbia's Last Stand Against The Central Powers I THE GREAT WAR - Week 68
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
Serbia's Army cannot hold out much longer against the invasion of the Central Powers. Germany, Austria-Hungary and Bulgaria are relentlessly pushing forward through the Balkan country. The French are trying to help from the south but a river proves to be an obstacle they cannot overcome. In the Alps, the 4th Battle of the Isonzo starts one week after the 3rd had failed and in West Africa, the Battle of Banjo takes place as one of the last battles of the German colony Kamerun (Cameroon). » HOW CAN I SUPPORT YOUR CHANNEL? At this point I can't see how the central powers could of lost.
-
Celebrity death-match between incompetent generals: Cadorna vs. Hotzendorf. Who can repeat the same failed tactic most often to lose first?
-
btw, it's "in-EX-ur-ably," not "in-ex-OHR-ably." Just a minor peeve... ;-D

Egad the map with tan oceans is atrocious. I keep hating it more & more each episode. I could understand it if there were some countries in blue, but since they're all shades of red or brown, WTF is the reason for tan oceans? Incredibly poor choice...

The Story of the Great War got it wrong about the Serbian last stand. I never read about the Serbian last stand in any history book. This is the first time I've heard of Serbia's last stand and I'm a twenty--six year old who loves history.
-
Could you talk about any Albanian resistance during ww1? Please

Историа научила нас што Сербиа и Россиа всегда побеждали врагов когда били вместе. Так ест и будет. Добро всегда побеждает зло.

This show is so biased it stinks. They jolly good British won and kept their colonies .Hurrah!

If there's anybody to blame for ww2 that would be the German person who gave the order to shoot an American ship..

I think you should look for the battle of Doyran 300 000 English,French,Serbian and Greek army against the 30 000 bulgarian army lead by general Vladamir Vazov... the bulgarians won the battle and an interesting fact , after the war there was some kind of conference in UK which general Vladimir Vazov was invited . When the british saw him they spoken "Put down the flags , the winer of Doyran is here" or something like that.
P.S. sorry for my mistakes and dont try to look for this battle in wikipedia , mainly beacuse the information there isn't correct. -

Serbia's last stand
Ten thousand waiting horsemen
And ten thousand waiting men;
To strike their blow for freedom
Or be conquered once again.
They see the German foemen,
And the Bulgars pressing hard,
One whispered prayer for loved ones,
They advance their outer guard.
But the iron ring closes on them
As they hear their last command;
E'en the foemen paused in pity
At Serbia's last stand.
O little band of patriots
Thy name shall live for aye;
Thy sons and daughters scattered far
Shall recall with pride the day
When a few against a mighty host
Fought with their last drawn breath.
And chose nor gave no quarter,
But fought for honor or for death.
With no earthly help to save them,
Ye Gods, the sight was grand,
Surely angels bowed in pity,
At Serbia's last stand.
Poor little helpless CHILDREN,
Left on those hills to die,
WILL YOU NOT RISE IN FUTURE YEARS
AND ONCE AGAIN TO TRY
TO STRIKE AGAIN FOR FREEDOM
From your hated conqueror's hand.
In all the stored up wrath of yours,
Avenge Serbia's last stand? -
