Secrets of Stealth Camping
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
Stealth Camping is the act of secretly camping in a public or private area and then leaving without being detected. Used by commandos on secret missions, it has become popular with civilians who dare try it. Stealth camping often has less environmental impact than traditional campground camping. It goes beyond Leave No Trace: BE NO TRACE. You become invisible to humans and wildlife. Stealth camping does not necessarily mean illegal camping. This video covers: - Transportation - Preparation - Blending in - Insertion and Extraction - How to be Invisible and Silent - Types of Shelters - Food and Fire - Footprints - Infrared Detection and Game Cameras - Advice from Experienced Stealth Campers Care of tactical clothing: Hand wash in Tech Wash, which has no whiteners/brighteners The use of normal detergents will make you light up like a light bulb because it has whiteners/brighteners Walking through water - If you are going to lose your scent in water because you are being followed, or maybe you just trying to move much more stealthily, insert your boot toe first into the water, then insert your second boot toe first into the water. Now instead of just splashing through the water, you glide- pick up your feet only enough to move forward slowly and deliberately, but never breaking the surface of the water with your boot. This allows one to move through a creek near heavy cover of the bank with complete silence. Nice, best vid on this topic that I've seen so far. Many years ago I hitch hiked around & across the US ( - and got back alive!), I slept wherever I could in many different places & situations. The biggest danger was... humans: weirdos, druggies, robbers, aggressive gays, and worst of all, COPS. I was doing no harm, intended no harm, clean living, no drugs, cigarettes, weed or weapons, short hair, but I had some heavy run-ins with (especially) small town cops. (There are also a lot of very paranoid people in the US.) So learned to hide myself real good (small low profile tent) & draw no attention to myself, eat during the day only, carry no food to attract bears. And then there was the day I was woken up by a well-armed State Trooper, having unwittingly camped in the central reservation of an IS highway, hidden from view from one side of the carriageway, but unknown to me in full view of the other carriageway. An impeccable English accent came in very handy "Oh I do beg your pardon officer, I didn't know..." He had the greatest difficulty keeping a straight face as he took me to the next off-ramp "Thank you so much officer, I really appreciate your help."

you don't, at first glance, look or act like most outdoorsman I've seen. Lol theres a hippy-ish tinge to your demeanor. I enjoy it immensely. Now I may be wrong, but you've earned a like and subscribe. I've never been into this kinda stuff but, it's pretty cool. keep it up!

I dont get it. why would you need to worry about camping if your doing it legally. just go into the wilderness or camp ground and camp.
-
Hi Kenneth! I just wanted to say how impressed i am with your exposure. I have heard your name dropped quite a few times over the last while, in regards to your teachings. WELL DONE SIR!

Enjoyed the video immensely. Have you ever made chicken or meat (venison) rocks before? When made right they have a storage life of 3-5 years.

AKA "camping".
Good video though :) -
just wondering how you address keeping wildlife out of your camp, particularly snakes which can be a real concern in the South East

" out of sight, out of mind "

Gluttonous fucktards who buy up large pieces of land and governments deter those who want to live freely by camping and not buying into debt, mortgages, and overpriced apartments. The system wants to keep people enslaved with debt and reward those who have enough money to buy as much real estate as humanly possible leaving little for anyone else.

Too bad if you snore LOL

@3:22 I completely agree with calling a friend and letting them know, but that friend you called doesn't particularly sound caring.

I'm not sure why you do this. Who are you hiding from and why ? It's more fun to camp with other people ? Ya
I'm just curious I guess -
