Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
Built in the 1st c AD when the Roman Empire peaked, the Colosseum represents Rome at its grandest. This colossal structure is a massive marvel of engineering. Ancient Romans, whose taste for violence exceeded even modern America's, came here to unwind. Gladiators, criminals, and wild animals fought to the death providing 50,000 roaring fans with a festival of gore. Subscribe at http://bit.ly/133oCd8 for weekly updates on more European destinations. 1:12 I'm not one to nitpick but I would think a place like the Colosseum would have that grass/weeds constantly trimmed up.
-
I remember when i visited this place in 2002. the whole middle area was floored but now it looks like it has been removed so tourists can get a better view of the under level areas
-
You lose yourself when you start to think of the history surrounding the Colosseum
-
Why are those annoying hurdles there in the middle? Takes away from being a stadium like it used to be!

To compare the US to the bloodbaths of ancient time is disrespectful. Rick and his editors should know better. Or is Rick too busy smoking marijuana cigarettes to notice...
-
i visted here when i was 15...lots of people trying to sell you crappy things everywhere. but i love the city itself!
-
Rome is one of rhe best cities in the world! The forum is astonoshing!
-
Really? You'd compare the slaughter that took place in the Roman amphitheaters to modern America? Your liberal Socialist guilt has no bounds!
-
"...treated to the slaughter of 5,000 animals." This really ended on a high note.

Good video my friend!
