Riding The Australian Alpine Epic Trail At Mount Buller
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
On January 1st, 2015, I joined 5 other mountain bikers for the most extreme MTB riding that I had ever done. We crashed, we burned, but we enjoyed ourselves riding 45 kilometres of the high altitude Australian Alpine Epic Trail at Mount Buller in the Victorian high country, a few hours north east of Melbourne. What application do you use to track distance
-
This place looks like a lot of fun....if you're on a dirt bike. Though the trail would get torn up real quick with motorized use.
-
what bike and tires do you use
-
Getting stuck halfway up a hill is the worst! :/

Haven't ridden MTB for a while now, I think it will feel so wrong now :D MCs are big and heavy and MTB are so small and light.
Damn, too bad that we don't have that kind of nature here. Scenery is stunning... -
mate that looked like a lot of work, i needed to take a rest after watching this ;)
-
Mate that looks like a track for pretty fit guys, classed as epic, that would seriously wreck me.
-
Oh man, I'm gonna have to do at least one MTB vlog this spring after seeing this. Of course, the scenery won't be nearly as awesome as yours. LOL.

i like to run with an emergency recorder separate to my camera, just stuff it in the top part of my back pack or use a secondary mic cable. but good idea to run with two audio systems in case one fails.
got a recorder for about 40something on ebay, its got a ton of recording time on its batteries, something like 72 hours worth.
you can also get a battery bank backup charger, there are some with solar chargers built in that are ruggedized and you can just clip them to the outside of your bag for longer trips, so they can be used to charge up any devices that run out of power. and in an emergency. your phone :D -
Great run, looked like fun :)

Well - sorry but only one word works here... EPIC! That was very cool. I understand your comment about the first long downhill. I did many long distance rides in Ireland and remember well the first time I did a 10 mile descent as the last part of a ride from Armagh to Newcastle - it was exactly like you said - a reward, suddenly the pain of all the hills I'd climbed was worth it :)
Great achievement, was interesting to hear about it - even better to see it :) -
Looks like a lot of fun but hard work too haha.
-
Well done again mate. And +Nerb1, thanks for the laugh!
-
Way to Go, that was great...
-
Seems like a good run ... shame you lost the audio
-
MrAus you know dam right i would only make it as a water boy at an event like that haha looked like a workout but I'm sure it was worth the reward of completion, enjoyed the vid scenery looked awesome

What a beautiful ride. I would love to ride that trail one day!
-
Looks like soo much fun, but I think I will just sit back and let you guys actually do it. I am a bit out of my prime so something like that would most likely end me :-( Shame about the mic, would have loved hearing you squeal haha.
