Rick Steves' Rome: Eternally Engaging
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
In this hour-long travel special, we explore the "Eternal City" of Rome, a grand and ancient metropolis rich with exquisite art, vibrant culture, and centuries of history. We trace the rise and fall of classical Rome, meander through the heart of Bernini's Baroque Rome, and make a pilgrimage to the Vatican. Then, we follow Rick as he uncovers the charms of hidden neighborhoods filled with character and energy, enjoys a Roman feast, and mixes and mingles with the locals during an early-evening stroll through the city's romantic nightspots.

Like so many videos, the insidious sound track interferes with voice. To add more difficulty they enlist cat voiced women to dialogue and then pour a cascade of goofy chimes, right in there on the same scale. Why? For ding dong ding dong ding dong?

Rome is such a historical place. One of, if not the best cities in the whole world!although venice is my most favorite, rome is my 2nd.. if travelling as a tourist, 1 week is not enough in Rome alone. Italy, for me, overall is the best country. Great history, art & architecture..delicious food, and beautiful natural landscape. Lovely people as well.. :)

Hi Mr. Rick Steves, thank you for the inspiration. I have travelled to 30 countries already and I am now writing my own book. Can I mention and quote some of your texts? btw, I have a copy of your Europe Through the Back Door 2016 book. Happy Travels.

My husband and I recently returned from Rome. Rick's videos were a big help (we planned our entire trip using the videos on different cities and packing). There was way too much to see in the few days we were in Rome. Definitely planning a return trip.
