http://www.webtogs.co.uk/rab-men-s-microlight-alpine-jacket.html The Rab Men's Microlight Alpine Jacket is a superb down layer that is incredibly flexible and versatile. Whilst Gareth shows you what it looks like in the flesh, let's get some more information from Rab about what they have to say on the Microlight Alpine. The Microlight Alpine Jacket is a lightweight, narrow baffled down jacket with a weather resistant Pertex outer fabric. Providing 140g/5oz (size large) of US750 fill European goose down, all wrapped up in a streamlined package that provides maximum warmth for minimal weight. The clean lines and uncluttered, minimalist design make it ideal as a layering piece for climbing or for mountain marathons - but this adaptable piece is equally at home for day to day use or for lightweight back-packing. The narrow baffle structure minimises down migration and provides optimum loft and a fixed hood makes this jacket the perfect choice when warmth, weight and packability are prime concerns. After listening to feedback from sponsored athletes and customers Rabhave decided to add zips to the hand warmer and chest pockets. FEATURES Pertex Microlight 30D outer shell 140g (L) of 750 fill power superior quality European goose down Mini stitch-through baffles stabilise position of down Fixed, down filled hood 2 YKK zipped hand warmer pockets and 1 YKK zipped chest pocket Front zip with internal down filled baffle Lycra bound hem and cuffs Stuffs away into the chest pocket Medium cut To view similar outdoor gear, footwear and clothing to the Rab Men's Microlight Alpine Jacket with free delivery & ZERO Hassle returns, just head to http://www.webtogs.co.uk For more videos on any of our products, and guides to help you enjoy your life outdoors more, head to http://www.youtube.com/webtogs

Hi, Rab, and all the brands which we stock, are incredibly careful where they buy their down from. This can be seen in the 'Down Codex' or similar operating rules of each brand. Live plucking is actually a incredibly rare if not completely unheard of as the down comes from geese or ducks which are for the food industry. In a nut shell live plucking for the outdoor industry does not happen and all the brands materials are responsibly sourced. hope this helps!

is the down ethically sourced ie not plucked from live birds?
-
yes thank you !

@jjamoako Don't use normal washing powder, use a specialist down wash, ensure your washing machine and the detergent compartment is cleaned thoroughly before you start and tuble dry on a low heat with a couple of tennis balls to get the loft back! See our site for full instructions in our help section.
