What is the style of calligraphy used for the "S"?? It's fantastic!!

I have bought the paper pads from them and love the paper. I write a lot of letters, so it is perfect for that and works great with my pens. Thanks for reviewing the notebook!

VERY nice review and even nicer pens!!!

Good quality paper is a paper you can write on both sides. So this one didn't pass my test... despite all the marketing. I had high hopes for Moleskine paper as well, until I bought one... Thin paper is thin paper...

Haha instrument of the devil, "Ballpoint." Nice one haha.
-
you pronounced it correctly

Nice, a convenient way to carry a lot of paper around in a compact package. Off the scale ridiculous price once postage is taken into consideration, though, if you live in Europe.
I rather like Tomoe River paper. The slipperiness could easily be annoying and showthrough is a bit much, but it does have some highly desirable properties like showing off ink shading - very evident here with the MB red chalk. The cost in Europe is a major sticking point, unfortunately. -
That MB Leonardo ink is gorgeous.

I love the dialogs in Ronin!

Very nice gothic S !!!!!!

Would you consider doing a bookshelf tour? I'm quite interested in what books are there.

Nice stuff, but shipping prices on that site are a joke.
Do you perhaps now a shop where you can get that paper that's closer to us and/or has more reasonable shipping?
Edit: yeah, and the paper itself isn't cheap... I think I will stay with cheaper stuff. With the amount of my writing... -
Great review, thank you.
I have found Fabriano Traccia paper to be almost similar quality and much easier to obtain in Europe. At 60 gsm it is just a little heavier than the 52 gsm of the Tomoe River. If you didn't dislike thin paper so much I'd send you a dozen sheets to compare :) -
I almost immediately bought one of those, until I saw the shipping cost for Europe: USD 27! A pity.

Great review Stephen! Thanks! The ink colors really popped on that paper. The Red Chalk looked wonderful. Curious that the Jumbo bled thru though. I use fountain pens with flexible nibs in my PfFP notebooks every day and never see that. With stiffer nibs like the Nikko G dip nibs, I sometimes use a stiff plastic backer behind the sheet I'm writing on. This seems to keep the tines of stiffer flexible nibs from deforming the paper and bleeding through, though it takes quite a bit of pressure from a sharp nib to cause that problem. I've never seen it with vintage flex nibs or modern semi-flex nibs like the Falcon pens or Pilot's FA nibs.

I fell in love with the loose paper a few months ago and am waiting for more bound books to come on sale. I need to stock pile them for developing my next few novels. I love the way by EF Japanese nibs feel on the paper. I swear it was made for them and the color is amazing. I used to hate white paper but white Tamoe River paper is delicious. It was interesting to see the broader nibs on the paper.
