Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
Welcome to Grandmia Pens - The ultimate online channel dedicated to Vintage Fountain Pens. Here we have a very nice example of a chased black hard rubber fountain pen made by Conway Stewart for the National Union of Railway workers. It comes with nickel trim marked with the Conway Stewart logo and a warranted 1st quality 14ct gold nib. A superb example.

Thank you for another great video, Stef. I just got an Osmia 222 in near mint condition with an excellent flexible nib. What do you know about these pens? I can't find a whole lot on line. Thanks!

Hi Stef,
You always show great youtube videos. I have learned a lot from your videos sitting home in India.
Thank you.

Dear Stef,
Wonderful video and beautiful pen! Being a N.U.R. Fountain Pen of those times, the black color and the chasing finish of the barrel and cap could have a meaning related to railways. Black for coal and chasing ornament to suggest the run speed of a moving train.
I would say also that, in those times, the pens were usually smaller than we can find nowadays. That was, maybe, because they were well spread all over the world and because, until ball point pen came up, they were the main writing instruments.
About that N.U.R. particular pen, I think that a railway worker really needed a smallish pen, to take with him in his mission.
However, I also think that, by its discreet ornament and austere color, this pen has an air of respectability and elegance, that subtly recommends it to all kind of users.
Thank you for the video, that was a time of joy for me in this Sunday evening!
Best Regards

Thank you, Stef. I really love this kind of chasing on ebonite. So simple and elegant.
