the black one doesn't have any ruby on the snake
-
got the black version as a gift from my wife. The snake head does not have any stones in it. The pen is slightly thin for my likes, but otherwise it is a superb writing instrument. The build quality is the best I have ever seen/felt. and I have quite a few top end pens ov various makes. The nib is also fantastic - but no flex....

I've had my eye on the black ebonite version, but the price keeps me from serious consideration of it. A stunning pen and one that will likely increase in value as the original has. So pleased to know that it writes well too. ; ) Thank you for the detailed review Sir and keep up the fine reviews. It's much appreciated.

ok, thank alot for helping me choose.
I think I will buy the black resin version. -
how much more expensive is the ebonite version then the black?

Hello
I am going to buy a rouge et noir. Do you recommend the coral version or the black version? -
limited edition? its special edition...limited edition is limited to 1906 pieces worlwide..
-
I love the design. Especially the red version. Just wished it didn't had a metal gripsection.
-
With regards to the montblanc mystery black ink I feel as though the black has a strong tinge of red in it, even in the bottle of you watch as it sloshes around, the 'clings' it creates on the sides of the bottle are quite red.
It appears as an ink that is so red it is black -
This is a great alternative to the Agatha Christie writer edition for those who missed it during its production run
-
thanks...good review.
-
Green ruby? I think you mean emerald.

it's obvious how much jinhao ripped off the montblanc clip on one of their pens.

Thank you, David.

They should have named it the Slytherin pen.

Nice review. Minor correction - the black version with metal section does not have any jewels in the snake eyes and costs a little less. THe black ebonite version has a black section as well as body; and has the red jewels in the snakes eyes and costs a lot more.

Nice review, nice pen. Only the "snake" clip is not my cup of T.
