MontBlanc Meisterstuck Luxury Ballpoint Pen & Robert David Laguiole Knife Review
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
I am sure by now you would be well aware of my fondness for Opinel French knives and the classic Parker Jotter. However today, I review and discuss the luxury alternatives to my more modest choices. We take a look at an equally iconic knife from France, the Laguiole and the Meisterstuck Ballpoint pen from the German luxury brand MontBlanc. I used to have the same MontBlanc pen but I cannot find it at all!

I had a beautiful Mont Blanc pen, and some worthless piece of shit stole it. I hope some heroic cop kills that worthless piece of shit the next time he runs from a traffic stop.

What does the average guy use a pocket knife for?
-
is that polo made in France
-
I've never had the knives, but I can tell you that the Chateau Laguiole wine openers are top notch.
-
Great stuff. Ever thought of a meet up with fans in New York or London ?

I carry a pen still because I also carry paper journal. I use the journal as makeshift wallet. I cannot use my phone for this it doesn't feel the same way and I keep forgetting checking them. Too much going on with it.

My EDC Pen originally was an Embassy Pen from County Comm. That Fisher Space Pen Cartridge is the best, bar none. My EDC Knives switch between a CRKT Suma and a Spyderco Tenacious.
-
I don't want to appear critical of this review but, in my estimation, there are far, far better folding knives, better EDCs on the market that I'd recommend over the Laguiole.

Just went out to Staples and bought a Parker Jotter because of this ! ( And I already have a MB Meisterstuck, same one that you actually reviewed. It was my fathers who has since passed away a few months ago, and left it to me. He bought it in the early 80's and still is going strong ).

I just have to comment how much I like and appreciate your intros. My all time favorite was on Watchco review. I will have check out Laguiole knife. Looks very classy and very beautiful. When it comes to pens, I am definitely Parker guy, but MontBlanc is simply beautiful. And i actually prefer ballpoint pens. Just my choice. Also really great quality of video and sound. You truly perfecting your channel. And big THANK you for doing something in addition to watches after long time. BIG LIKE as usually from me.

Definitely the Parker for choice of pen!! And since you recommended the Opinel I've since purchased it!! Very Good! May even get a collection for my Dad, as he loves Cooking.. Cool Review! BMJ ENGLAND!

And speaking pen...why not a nice review about the italian brand Visconti. Their pens are splendid. I cannot say the same regarding their new watches range presented this year in Basel !-). Great video

Laguiole were invented in the region where I come from....you should really plan to visit the center of France, wild and beautiful as the US west. you will love it. Be careful Laguiole is not a protected brand, a lot of them are coming from Asia. a made in France is worth it.

I have that same SS Parker Jotter for more than 10 years now. Lost count how many refills I've bought for it. Love that pen, perfect for my small hands and so SO elegant. Pure gentlemans class.

The Montblanc is a nice pen. For a truly high end pocketknife, a proper luxury pocketknife, have a look at William Henry's knives. You thought luxury watches were expensive? :)
