My apologies, I had initially listed this as the 144, but it's actually the Classique 145. A very kind thank you to http://www.lacouronneducomte.nl for so graciously providing this wonderful pen for review! What's the point about plated the nib with ruthenium ? At equal price range, would you go for a Visconti or a Montblanc ? Do you think that at equal price, both brands provide equal quality pens ? Thanks Stephen ! Love from France, Marjorie

Great look! I think this line (Claassique) is a real Meisterstuck for everyday heavy writing. Thanx for review :)

It's an awesome pen, with awesome style. Really appreciate the generosity that it's a giveaway.... Wow.
I would surely be on cloud 9,if I happen to be the luck one.. Since I just got back home from the MB boutique and I did fall in love with Ultra Black.
When are you giving it away...?? Hope to see my name there in... -

Please don't ever change the way you say Montblanc. I love it.
-
Are you sure it's a "144", Stephen? Because on the Appelboom website it is called a "145"...
-
How do you enter?

Is this the first time you do a pen review using black ink? I think it might be....
Thanks for the review. -
585 euro's a lot of money for a cartridge/converter pen ? Strange that I did not hear you say that about the Classic Pens LB5. That cost around 1.700 euro's.

QUIET ON THE SET !!! Sounds like that cat knows how to use a zipper. 😼

A very handsome pen, and I really like the ink. Thanks for the review.

I am really - REALLY glad that you've touched upon piston filler vs. cartridge converter topic. I've started watching your video/review and when I saw that cartridge converter I immediately lost interest in this pen.
Now I know that classique range has cc, maybe I was expecting something extra. I'm not holding some backward principle(s) but - a fountain pen without some form of piston filler just feels under-engineered or "cheap".
If one wants to command a price for a pen upwards of 150-200 USD, unless the pen is made of gold or unicorns horn - then they should go an extra length to make it piston filler. That little extra engineering effort is what makes a difference, even if it is a psychological one. And for that reason only - even though I love raden technique (or some forms of makie) - I never wanted to pay 1,000 or 2,000 plus EUR/USD for Japanese pen. Pelikan Raden (any) - yes! Nakaya, Namiki handmade... how all that effort spent to make a pen gets ruined when they wiggle in that coca-cola straw (cartridge conv.)... there, I said it ! -
Wow....You write your exclemation mark backwards ?
The pen looks amazing, converter or not :D -
Attractive pen. I like the vintage styling and the matte black body with ruthenium trim. I've enjoyed the 144 that I lucked into at a thrift shop ($1!) some time ago. Wonderful that this pen has been graciously provided for a giveaway. Thanks, Stephen.

That's a fine looking pen
-
isn't it a 145? 144 was slip on cap and discontinued a while ago
-
Anyone who criticizes you pronunciation can piss off. Toe-may-toe = Toe-ma-toe!
Hopefully when the giveaway goes live I can win this as it's a gorgeous pen. Thanks La Couronne du Comte and yourself for showing us. -
Thanks for another excellent review Stephen. The pen really looks very nice.
