I have a vintage 149 from the mid 60's. The 14k nib is really broad most probably BB. HOWEVER the nib also has an incredible amount of flex on top of that, unlike the modern nibs. Really love using it. All in all a fantastic pen.

10:06 yeah, precious resin my ass. Meisterstucks get scratched way too easily and it looks obvious. Of course when you get scratch all over the body it looks less obvious.
BUT, the nib is gorgeous... It writes beautifully and it looks great. -
What ink did you use?

I'm deciding between an Aurora 88 and a MB 149, so how would you describe the feedback of Aurora's gold nibs? I love the feedback of my titanium nibs on my Conid, but how do the Aurora nibs compare to those?
-
I love my 149's, but that O3B nib is undoubtedly too broad for my everyday handwriting. Looks perfect for you!
-
So, just curious, is this pen in any way user serviceable? (Also, if you get that close to the camera you could put your eye out, be careful.)
-
Thanks for the review Stephen, I very much enjoy and look forward to your videos.
-
Great review as always. New framing works.
-
Okay, let's praise round nibs! And broad nibs!
-
Can I ask : Do you think that an oblique nib would help a left handed fountain pen user like myself? As a lefty I tend to hold the pen at a slight angle which means that the nib is rarely "straight on" to the paper.
-
Love how Lord Windermere is now a comparative unit of scale! As always, very enjoyable review, thank you!
-
I think the nib actually adds a lot of nice character to your handwriting!!

This pen is something like $800 dollars, lol, 😱😂 nope not me, their is nothing that's so special about this pen, yes it's a good pen but your paying for the name mainly. Yes nice wet pen which I like but I have some cheaper price pens that are as well, wet and nice writers that I've paid under $50 buck.
-
Oh dear you bought an overlypriced montblanc. I feel for your bank account.
-
I've been singing the intro for a while now.
The writing looks almost like a fat architect nib. -
nice review.. thanks... but. well.. it look more like OB, max O2B for me.. but maybe it is just because of my super thick and wet line from Sheaffer Legacy :-)

I have 3 Jinhao 159 Jumbos , they look the same spot size and look like this great pen. My pens have a very nice Broad nip and a med nib. They write very well, never had a problems. I have small hand not troll hand but small hands👻 and I have cool cool colors as well, yellow , orange and a yellow. Now here is my goal this September I am going to my first pen show 😎👍🤓😀😀yes I am excited. I do want a nice pen not a $500 dollars but $300 to $400 dollars.this wold be the first time to spend this type of money. So tell me what would be a great pen for underc$400. I like Broad nibs and Big Bens or broad fat pens. What to you recommend let me know. Here another import question , I have some Jinhao I think their #5 nibs, for me it's hard to tell cause I am so new with fountains..I want to change out the nibs on some and put a broad nib and a different nibs on them. I can get the # 6.nibs from Goulet pens but I don't think he make a #5 nib. So where can I fine a #5 broad nib. Thanks aga

A fair review on a nice pen. Mine is from the 80's, black and gold and even then was expensive, but it has lasted time and still brings a smile to my face when using it. Thank you for the review.

Good timing !!! I bought a MontBlanc M 149 this morning. (The yellow gold version with a medium nib). It feels much more comfortable in my hand than I expected. As I was worried about the girth of the grip section. And it looks stunning. A classic beauty.
