Les designer de Montblanc ne sont plus dans l'âme de la marque. Tout est dessiné sur ordinateur, par conséquent il manque quelque chose. Dommage ça aurait pu être une belle réinterprétations

Excellent and very OBJECTIVE review! Was the original a truly SAFETY pen, where the nib would SOAK in the ink? Thank you!
-
Any news on whether MB did, in fact, fix the design flaw? Did you finally end up buying one? Hmmmmm? ;)
Thanks again for another great review. That OBB must have guzzled ink like a muscle car! -
Can anyone tell me what notebook is in the thumbnail? dumb question but I must know.

Can you tell me the notebook pictured in the thumbnail? Thanks.

A trinket for the idle rich.

So an extremely overpriced pen comes to the owner and still needs tuning?

I purchased this pen late last year from Dromgoole's in Houston. I'm very happy with it and since it's one of many pens that I own, when in the rotation, I don't get tired of going through the 'ritual'. I have a medium nib ground to a nice italic with beautiful line variation.
If you can afford this pen, it won't be a disappointment. I do also suffer from the micro scratches from the cap. For now they're hard to see, but over time and with extended use, I think they'll become much more pronounced. Hopefully when that time comes, Mont Blanc will take care of me.

What is the point of having a retractactable nib and AND cap ? The mechanism inside the pen to make it retractable takes up space that could have been used to store more ink. And it also limits the size of the nib.

montblanc m?

Great review!

I have bought a Montblanc Princesse Grace De Monaco and it is a m nib, and I found that the nib is not very flexible for me to write. Which nib should I buy next time in order to write more flexible?

The T and C in MontBlanc is silent. Is is pronounced somewhat closer to. Mon Blon.

Hi & thanks Dan for your review. I'm interested in your thoughts about what ink to use with Montblanc. I recently purchased the Montblanc 149 as a gift for myself. It's a very handsome instrument & I'm pleased with my choice. The ink however is an issue I would like your opinion on. The info provided with the 149 endorses the use of Montblanc ink. I bought a couple of bottles but wondered if I should consider another ink and brand option in the future.
Would you please shed some light on this for me. Should I stick with Montblanc ink, or do I broaden my outlook and consider another quality option? -
Welcome back!!! Been missing your reviews.
Awesome job as usual.
Personally I'm always torn between the Pelikan and Montblanc. I love the classic Montblanc styling, but every one I own has had issues. Pelikan, on the other hand, has been flawless. Currently I'm unable to choose between my M800 & vintage 100N every time I'm confronted by paper though I'm clearly spoiled by choice.
I think my 100N is the best writer I have even though it gives more feedback than the M800 (or even my TWSBI's). Such a classic style, but yet a fabulous performer and I measured a 2 ml ink capacity!!! Couldn't believe it.
I have a Montblanc 149 I've been delaying having repaired, but thinking of it always makes me crave that styling. Trying to decide whether to repair the 149 or just buy a new M1000 now. Sadly even money.
Which (in perfect working order) do you prefer as a brand - Montblanc or Pelikan?
By the way, please do keep up with the reviews. I love to see new videos from you & really do appreciate the effort and expert opinions. -
Excellent videography and great review Dan!
Although I'm a big fan of Montblanc pens and love using Bohème pens this pen doesn't do much for me. I cannot get over how small the nib is compared to overall size of the pem. -
Great video Dan! I really appreciate the work you did on the pen. Its great and is my go-to correspondence pen these days. As for the wear and tear, those scratches annoyed me in the beginning, but I've come to kind of like them. Interesting about the pen's ink capacity, I was curious about that as I have ran out twice this week so I thought it must've been quite small.

This is a joke... that pen looks so cheap; there are other German and Japanese brands that cost a tithe of this and provide writing straight out of the box.
As for the reviewer, he's really nice and calm, good job -
She's a beauty. Sadly way out of my price range. My battered vintage Waterman Safety will have to do.
