Driving from Italy (Italia) to France through Mont Blanc Tunnel. The tunnel links Courmayeur, Aosta Valley (Valle d'Aosta) with Chamonix, Haute-Savoie (Upper Savoy). It's part of European route E25. It opened to the public on 19 July 1965. It has a total length of 11,611 meters and a maximum elevation of 1,395 meters making it the 12th longest road tunnel in the world and the 2nd highest motorway in Europe respectively. The tunnel passes under the summit of the Aiguille du Midi, where it lies 2,480 meters beneath the surface, which makes it the deepest tunnel worldwide!
