A trip up to Centennial Hut situated at 2400m just below the divide of New Zealand's South Island. This clip shows our climb of the Minarets (3040m and 3031m). These peaks have possibly the best aspect in the high mountains of NZ with most of the other 3000m peaks on three sides and the Tasman Sea on the other. Strong winds and snow preceded our climb so deep snow provided tough conditions. The climb took around 10hrs, possibly as much as 50% longer than in better conditions. It was great weather however for the climb and Lawrence and I were treated to an memorable day up high in New Zealand.
