Le Repaire - French farm house in the French Alps

Le Repaire, (the hideout in english) is a beautifully renovated 18th century stone farmhouse. It's tucked away in the Chartreuse mountains just 10km outside historic Grenoble. Virtually completely private; no neighboring houses. Totally quiet, you can hear a pin drop. This house is the perfect place for a writers retreat. The house is well situated to hiking in the summer and both down-hilll and cross country skiing in the winter. There are 3 ski stations within 20min drive and when there's sufficient snow, you can cross country ski right from the house. The house has high-speed (roughly 20mbps download speed) internet. It's heated with electric and wood. There is a lovely wood burning stove in the living room. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen size futon mattress on a tatami platform. It's quite firm. The other bedroom has 2 single beds (a trundle bed in fact). The upstairs bathroom has a large bath tub suitable for two. Downstairs off the living room, there is a bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom. The kitchen is modern with a glass top halogen stove top and a microwave oven. Plates, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils, pots and pans are provided, everything you should need. There is a drip coffee maker as well. On the terrace, there is a table and chairs should you wish to eat outdoors. We always used to love eating out doors whenever we could. The house is suitable for children, however with very young children, we do not have child barriers on the stairs. Pets are acceptable.
