Klein Matterhorn
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
Recorded August 17, 2011: The Klein Matterhorn is the highest point in the Zermatt-Cervinia ski area in Switzerland, and the end point of the highest cable car in Europe. The peak is at 12,740 feet with the cable car terminal at 12,533 feet. My trip from Zermatt to the "Matterhorn glacier paradise" took about 40 minutes. A lift, built into the rock, transported us to the highest sightseeing platform in Europe, offering a breathtaking 360 degree panoramic view of the Swiss, Italian and French Alps with a total 38 peaks exceeding 13,000 feet in elevation. How wonderful..THANK YOU!! I am from Germany, now living in the central mountain range of New Mexico, USA. Moved here from TX to have snow in winter...oh well, climate change??! The Sierra Blanca 12,900 ft. is a ski area belonging to Native Amerikans. Snow..not much, so they have to make it. The tip of it got "sprinkled" the other day. I will watch more of your sites..again, thanks for the upload! Greetings to all..Stay Safe, Hilde
