These were very interesting to say the least. After opening the typical Japanese high-quality micro-packaged bag, out came an equally high-quality soft-cookie. As expected, it was unlike the American variety of Oreo cookies. These were very high-quality. The texture was soft and slightly chewy. The center cream filling was smooth and mild with an undertone of chocolate and cocoa with hints of chestnuts. There was a small dollop, right in the middle, of candied and caramelized marron chestnut glace/glaze. To me, the overall cookie even had a coffee type aroma and taste; which, I liked. These were good. I don’t think they’re my very favorite though. But, I definitely wouldn’t mind at all getting a bag of these again (especially if they are on sale). These are high-quality cookies that have a sophisticated taste. The flavors are deceptively mild with underlying complexity but easy to like flavors. Hope you enjoyed.
