What is that transparent overlay under your hand when you write?

This ink came with my MontBlanc M 149. I wanted to check it out before filling the pen with this colour. Looks nice....
-
Is this ink considerably darker than Waterman Florida Blue? Florida blue can fade, and I don't like the faded color.
-
My preference is for dark blue inks with a touch of purple, so I like the Royal Blue a shade more than Serenity.
Stephen, was is the pen with the Italic nib you say is "still very satisfying" in this video? -
Strangely, this ink becomes fairly water resistant if left alone for a few days. I usually take my notes in this ink and spilled some water on week old writing. The ink was left completely legible and only slightly faded. Also, the purplish sheen is quite nice and will show up a few times per page even with an extra fine nib.
I prefer the Royal Blue because it does offer a tad more shading than Florida Blue. I prefer the slightly lighter overall color compared to the Florida Blue as well. I also like the flow of the standard MB inks, not too watery but certainly never "gooey". Both are excellent inks. -
I have used both the Royal blue and the Florida blue and I prefer the Royal Blue better that Florida.

Stephen, congratulations for your videos. They are all very nice. I have just started to use Montblanc royal blue, and I agree with you: it has excellent flow and cleaning. I have a pen that always stayed dry with other inks, specially noodlers, and with this one its flow is excellent. And it has few feathering either.
It is my mistake, or noodler´s inks are more easy to get dry? Always when I use a pen with noodlers ink for the first time in a day, specially if I have not used this pen for a few days, I have to put some water in the nib to start the ink flow, what is not always necessary with other inks. It doens not happen, I have to say, when I use noodler´s inks in noodler´s pens.... -
Stephen, I've been using Serenity for a few months now and have just got some Royal Blue - to me, the difference is that the Waterman is a touch "greener" whilst the Montblanc is a touch more "purple-ish".
-
I really want a blue but can`t decide between the Royal or Florida. I got J. Herbins Eclat De Saphir but it has too much of a purplish hue to it. I just want a really dark blue.
-
Is this a fairly wet ink, or does it dry quickly?
-
I am not a big fan of this Meister's Blue...Maybe for you or a The Who but not for Donder roo!!

Right, I thought it wasn't used anymore either. But according to the musical, the amount of electricity used is the same or less than the amount used to light a light bulb, if I remember right? So we're not talking about, like...the 1.2 jigawatts needed to take a DeLorean from 1955 to 1985. :P Seriously, though...if "Next to Normal" ever plays in your neck of the woods, go see it. I don't remember if it won any Tonys when it first debuted on Broadway, but I think it was at least nominated.
-
That's a very beautiful blue, but I'm more intrigued by the mini-lesson in psychology. (Abnormal psychology?) Reminds me of the last mini psychology lesson I'd gotten: the musical "Next to Normal." It's about a housewife who's severely bipolar and has had hallucinations. She's given combinations of various drugs that don't work on her, and eventually she gets ECT. which doesn't quite work either. Pretty heavy stuff for a musical, but really fascinating.

I think the AURORA Blue is even better than Montblanc Royal Blue and Waterman Florida Blue! Would you like to give it a try?
-
Hmmm, my bottle of this ink is rather purplish... or should I say a pretty purplish blue... yours look a lot bluer.
-
once i want to a MB boutique and the gifted me a half-full bottle of this ink!! XD very nice experience
