Ronnie, I read somewhere that the cut out on the MB bottle serves two purposes: To make it easier to get the last dregs of ink out (pooling it into a smaller reservoir) and to make the bottles stand out a bit more.

I think the ink is not supposed to be used on a pen with ebonite feed as Noodler's feed are made of ebonite.

I love this ink. It's almost like the Platonic ideal of what "grey ink" is supposed to be.

I had the same issue with a Lamy 1.9 calligraphy nib, then I tried to use a flex Visconti Rembrandt and I had to squeeze frequently the converter... In fact I took 5 mm and added 2 drops of dishwasher and now it works....

Amazing ink, amazing handwriting.

Thank you for this review. But how does it compare to Albert Einstein or JH Cacoa du Bresel? If you want to buy only one, which one?

I bought this ink from Brian Anderson at the DC show - I detest this ink. Awful!! Do you please want to buy mine?

hey Stephen, nice review. I've always been curious, (and this might be a silly question) , but what is the purpose of the cut-out on the MB ink bottle? just cosmetic or does it serve a purpose?
