Ink Review: MontBlanc Midnight Blue Ink
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
Here I review an ink by J. Herbin Ink, by the title of "Midnight Blue" (the newer, non-Iron-Gall formulation). Here-in may be found my own thoughts and opinions on the matter, as well as some test results I have for (among other factors) water-resistance on Clairefontaine, Rhodia, Copier Paper, Mead Notebook Paper, Tomoe River Paper, and Moleskine papers, and using both a MonteVerde Impressa with a 1.1mm Stub nib, and a MontBlanc Vermeil Solitaire with a Fine nib as pens for these tests/experiments.

I love the montblanc vermeil solitaire

It looks extremely grey to me (unlike what I've seen in other reviews of the same ink), I don't see any blue at all. It could be my monitor... but I never had this issue with other videos.

Deep purple, iron gall, and has a beautiful sheen :) -

I really like this ink , I don't believe it was ever iron gall in the cartridges although I could be wrong , it was in the bottles up until recently . It was the cartridges I've always used , I've never had a bottle and I really like the seriousness of the ink and it does grow on you honestly .
