How to find the best flying sites of the Alps
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
The Alps is a massive playground for paraglider and hang glider pilots. There are flying sites in nearly every valley, each with their own rules, conditions, and 'inside information'. In this video Greg Hamerton presents a way to tap into the knowledge of one of the most experienced flying guides in the region: Oliver Guenay. Filmed in Zillertal in 2012. Officially, IPPI is no good (google 31579-ippi-card-austria). As the IPPI card is only valid with a current licence I've not bothered with it, because you must present your licence anyway. Practically, I've never heard of licences being required/checked for visitors, but it's expected that you have 3rd party insurance. I'd suggest ParaPro 3 minimum, 4 recommended if you're on your own.
