Can't brushing ruin the leather?
-
its ok to teethbrush the stitchings?
I think this is too hardcore cleaning :D
In most cases, a damp cloth is enough.
I wont push too hard on the stitchings, I dont know, it cant be good to rub cotton stitches.
Anyway for a second hand wallet I could try your method. Thanks for sharing! -
The bristles from the toothbrush will damage the leather equal to several months of normal use. Absolutely no point in this sort of cleaning. Just use a damp cloth and wipe the leather. Nothing else. Leather conditioner only works on unfinished leather, and the vast majority of wallet leather is finished (yours, which is crossgrain leather, is definitely finished), which means the conditioner will not penetrate at all (the very same reason why the leather is protected from the water on a damp cloth).

how often should I condition my new leather wallet? and should I clean it first since it is brand new.

I have a question. I've had my leather wallet for about 2 years and the see through clear area where I keep my driving license has tinted red color from my license. Is there a way to clean that and prevent it from happening?
