How to build an Alpine Shelter or Double Lean-to
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
In this video I will show you how to build an Alpine shelter, which is a form of a double lean-to. This is a long term, cold weather shelter that allows you to build a fire inside the shelter to keep warm in freezing temperature. wouldn't the cold frozen ground make the hot rocks cool off almost instantly?

hey im in Colorado and im looking for a place a can do all of this.. is your spot okay? or is it big enough. or do you have any suggestions. please let me know

You can also use the generator running in the back ground to heat the shelter. I apologize,, a bit catty of me,,, but the shear number of small straight trees you cut,,, 100,, 200,,? . It bothers me.

you should've made one side longer and taller then the other thus over lapping ..this would cut down on the rain snow from falling thru

That's not survival, it's certain doom for all. Stop cutting down and burning the forest. Your activities are dangerous. How many more assholes are going into the woods to cut down saplings to build a lean-2 ? Thousands upon thousands and not one person is going to the forest to plant trees instead.
-
Cross beams should be behind the tree so the 'lean' to 'leans'into the trunk of the tree, especially since the weight of snow could collapse it.

Miserable noise for music....

freaking awesome video!!!

YET ANOTHER "PERSON" THAT BELIEVES THAT HE KNOWS,...BUT KNOWS NOT; BETTER THAN NO EXPERIENCE OR KNOWLEDGE AT ALL, BUT ONLY JUST. THE GENUINELY INTERESTED SHOULD BUY ONE OF THE MANY QUALITY BUSHCRAFT BOOKS THAT HAVE THE ADVANTAGE OF THE COMBINED EXPERIENCE OF MANY "MORE KNOWLEDGABLE", PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE TO PREVENT HAVING TO UNLEARN INCORRECTLY PERFORMED INSTRUCTIONS AND WASTING YOUR TIME.
