3 riders, 4 places, 3 countries, 1 mountain range!! Epic 2 weeks! :D :D The Stops: Saalbach Hinterglemm, Austria [Downhill Mountain Biking] I'm not stranger to this place. It's the mountain bike mecca in the Austrian Alps. Lots and lots of trails. We rode too hard on the first day and ended up injuring ourselves. We finally rode the Bergstadl trail. It's a mix of freeride and vertride style. Some quite exposed sections Lago di Garda, Italy [Enduro MOuntain Biking, Rock Climbing] We climbed about 1300m and rode down a classic trail on the first day around Monte Baldo. The trails were rather easy though there were lots of loose rocks from small to big. It wasn't easy to go fast. The next day my legs gave out so I took a rest day. On our last day we climbed Monte Zugna in heavy heavy rain! This made the trails very difficult at least for me. It had lots and lots of sections with non-moving rocks slippery due to the rain. All in all this trail would be awesome to shred when dry. :) Vlad caught up with us on the last night and we drove to Finale Ligure. Finale Ligure, Italy [Enduro MOuntain Biking, Rock Climbing] We rode right away as soon as we arrived but didn't find the intended trail. We rode the Madonna della Guardia region GPS on the next day. The rest of the days were more epic riding in new terrain by the sea!! Portes du Soleil, France/Switzerland [Downhill Mountain Biking] I guess this was the craziest part of the trip. Extreme difficulty trails, massive jumps, super muddy steep sections. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to ride Champery, the world cup track few years ago. It's rumored to be very very steep and muddy. It's amazing how big this place is! You pay just about 19 Euros per day for lift passes for the entire region! We only managed to explore Les Gets, Morzine, and Chatel in 3 days. http://summer.morzine-avoriaz.com/images/info_pages/plan-des-pistes-portes-du-soleil-ete-198.pdf Interestingly, look at how they rate they're trails. Very Easy, Easy, Difficult, Very Difficult. Hahaha! Nothing in between. http://summer.morzine-avoriaz.com/images/info_pages/plan-vtt-morzine-les-gets-2014-913.pdf
