Halifax Disaster Averted Thousands of lives spared

Ghosts scare people right? It's sort of what they do best. And apparently they are not confined to a single moment in time and can in fact travel forward and backward in our history. Bare with me here but as the collected works of Sir William Crookes will testify, it is scientifically possible to communicate with the formerly alive and in so doing on even the smallest scale, history is created. I therefor ask that Sir William manifest his ghostly apparition in front of the helmsman on the SS Mont Blanc at 8:00 a.m. on the 6th of December, 1917. By simply scaring the crap of everyone on the bridge, a delay in departure by even only a few minutes would spare the ghastly demise of thousands of innocent souls.
