Grossglockner Alpine Road

This is a somewhat compressed/abbreviated video of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road in Austria. The pass itself is 48 kilometres in length, comprises 36 bends and has an altitude ascent to 2504 metres. The name Grossglockner is taken from the mountain which is the highest in Austria (3798m) and can be viewed from several stretches of the road. The video starts from the southern end just outside the village of Heiligenblut and finishes at the Toll/Maut station just before Fusch. Camera used was a Drift HD170 Stealth located on my Schuberth C3 motorcycle helmet. fatto questo magnifico giro circa un mese fa con "Moto club International" di Montegrotto Terme. è semplicemente fantastico. strada perfetta con panorami che ti distraggono un po', ma con buon senso si fa tutto. impostato su YouTube mio video. un lampeggio "baffo"

Lets say that I want to enter the Grossglockner road late in the evening after they close. Can I do that with a car and drive for free then? Has someone tried? Did it work?

Done it by car twice, planning a bike ride this year - I mean a REAL bike, not this easy stuff - the kind of bike with only 1HP - MINE :)

In August Our group Rode the Stelvio twice & made it in time ( ten mins till closure) to ride Grossglockner , misty as hell up top & i was a bit tight coming down....but loved it all the same....enjoyed your vid.... nice one.....
