The Gréolières village (Alpes-Maritimes; Maritime Alps) is located on the south side of the Cheiron mountain so it looks down on the Loup river. Next to the village there are two hamlets: Saint-Pons: This small hamlet is located on the southern slope of the Cheiron mountain. Gréolières-les-Neiges: This family resort (altitude 1400-1800 m) is the closest resort to the Côte d'Azur coast. From the top of Cheiron you can have a magnificent view over the French Riviera from Monaco to Esterel.

Uprated -- gorgeous! I call those clouds coming in over the Maritime Alps, even on hot, sunny clear days "finger clouds." I always feel I'm in a Hitchcock or James Bond movie down there from Paris -- ah, Provence! The French Riviera! The Côte d'Azur!
