the title of this video is absolutely missleading because nor the castles in the Danube valley nor Castle Hohenzollern aktually lie on the route from Lindau to Berchtesgaden

One hallmark of these incredible buildings is the "correct" proportions in their massing. Another is the way the architects integrated them sensitively into the geography. For several reasons many American buildings are woefully lacking in both these artistic attributes. Expediency and limited budget, I suspect.

My dad's favorite was Herren Chiemsee palace. We'd go there every summer on our way touring through Europe. Sometimes we'd go clockwise (from La Rochelle, France), other times counter-clockwise. What a great way to see the continent!!
