It's time for another... Fountain Pen Shootout! This time, I'll be comparing two large pens.

Love your reviews. Extraordinarily helpful, thank you. Any issues using the Delta Oversize as an Eyedropper? Seems like that metal band near the end would tend to erode.
-
The medium size Dolce Vita, does it have a friction fit nib?
-
Thank you for doing this great review! Could you please tell me the name of the ink you used in this video? I'm having trouble catching the ink name due to my lousy listening.
-
Hands up for the Delta.
-
Why isn't the Dolcevita in your GOAT 20?
-
Thank you for the review. I didnt think you would be so prompt. Both are lovely pens but I think i would prefer the Delta but with a piston filler.
Thanks again -
Just wanted to mention that I have a 149 that I bought new and I also have the same problem with occasional skipping. I particularly notice it on the letter "C" more than anything.
-
Do you know of any online store that sell Akkerman inks?
-
The reason I don't use the eye dropper mode is that I have the completely orange oversize fountain, and I have been told that the orange resin gets darkened by the ink over a short period of time.
-
Thank you for writing back. Your reviews are excellent. I had a hard time deciding between the Dolcevita Oro piston type or the oversize version. Finally decided that the oversize was a better choice due to the ink capacity: cartridge or converter. They no longer sell the pen with the free case or bottle of ink that used to be included until a year ago; the ink dropper is also now excluded.

Can you please do a review comparing the Dolcevita Oversize to the Dolcevita Piston ?
-
about 800€....

nothing to see in this video but Graf Von Faber Castell has made new intuition FPs in wood(pernambouc and grenadilla)with an absolutely new 18K long nib wich seems very nice i'd like to have a review of it is it possible?
-
Amazing ! I could'nt believe there was the same ink in the 2 FPs. I had to watch it again :)

Pelikan 400. I measured my modern one (which doesn't have nearly as large a piston stroke :() at 1.5 mililiters using a vial. Nibs.com measures it at 1.8. I acutally just talked to richard binder about this on facebook...he said the mont blanc 149 really does hold only 1.3 ml. So a tiny 5 in. capped pen (m400) holds more than an iconic monster? Seems improbable, but it might be true.
-
I don't have either pen, but I would also pick the Delta. :) And I love the ink!
-
Ah. So maybe montblancs don't hold that much ink...(?) You're measurement for the standard c/c was about right, so that's why I was suprised by the 1.3ml you said for the 149. Does your book list any other pen's ink capacities?
-
Whoa...1.3 ml for a mont blanc 149?? I'm very confused here. I've heard multiple sites measure it at well over 2 milliliters of ink. I just measured my tiny Parker Vacumatic slender with a very simmilar vial to yours and I came up with a bit over 2 mililiters. My paragon (MB 146 size) holds about the same as that (yep, the lockdown vacs are that good :)) . I have seen a HUGE variation in ink capacity measurements...and I'm very confused. Maybe you read the vial wrong?

Great opening to another excellent video---thanks, Stephen!
