www.fragrancefoundation.org.uk/fifi-awards Known as the 'Oscars' of the fragrance industry, the 20th Annual FiFi Awards 2012 took place at one of London's most popular venues -- The Brewery on Chiswell Street. Over 500 industry guests including a host of celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Richard E Grant, Nancy Dell'Olio and Caryn Franklin attended the glitzy and glamorous event. The evening started with a Champagne Reception held in the King George III room where guests mingled before being ushered to the Porter Tun room for a sumptuous Dinner. The room was splendidly decorated in true British style - red, white and blue - in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the forthcoming Olympics. TV personality, George Lamb, compered the evening's ceremony, held in support of the industry's charity Look Good...Feel Better, and guests were entertained by 'Boy Band' Blue, who sang a selection of their hit songs. The Fragrance Foundation UK's Chairman, Peter Norman, who proudly stated that this major event is celebrating its 20th Anniversary, gave the welcoming presentation. This was followed by a touching tribute to the late Evelyn Lauder who was the Estee Lauder Companies' Senior Corporate Vice President and Head of Fragrance Worldwide and also the Founder of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Peter gave a special mention to Linda Key, The Fragrance Foundation's Executive Director, to Lorraine Wilson-Morris and the esprit team and The Fragrance Foundation Award's Committee for their help and hard work in making this year's Awards a great success. For the last two years, the Fragrance Foundation has presented a special FiFi Commendation Award for innovative marketing and promotion of the industry. This year's award was presented to Lorraine Wilson-Morris, co-Founder of Esprit Magazine, which was launched in 1988. Lorraine said: "This is such a shock, but I am really over the moon to be honoured with an award for a job I love doing." There were 18 award categories and the evening culminated with the announcement that Elie Saab had been chosen as Best New Fragrance for Women and Gucci Guilty Pour Homme had won the Best New Male Fragrance category.
