Many people have asked what happens if you let Montblanc die in a Jagd, so this short clip should answer this common question. Some people may ask, why would I want to kill Montblanc? I wanted to post all pros and cons of doing so but, on the other hand, whether something is a reason in favour or against killing him is a matter of personal perception. I'll just post miscellaneous facts you may or may not know: 1) If Montblanc dies, you get the scene the video shows. Honestly speaking, it does not add all that much to FFTA's story (arguably its Achilles heel), so I wouldn't call it the FFTA's equivalent of not feeding Cid fish. 2) The story onwards hardly changes if you do decide to let him die. His lines will be replaced by other characters' utterances. Furthermore, some people will talk to themselves. 3)Montblanc takes up a place in your party and plays a role on the random enemies' levels. Getting rid of him will change the party's average level and the enemies's strength with it. Whether that is a positive aspect of killing Montblanc, decide for yourself. 4)Montblanc starts with Black Mage stats which happen to be inferior in terms of magic power to those of a Time Mage. A magical Moogle trained as a Time Mage is thus more effective when casting offensive magic spells. In addition, Moogles are the worst black mages in the game, as they have access to neither the passive ability Turbo MP (borrowed from fighting as a White Mage), nor Magic Power+, acquired by Nu Mous through the use of the Alchemist job. In a nutshell, other characters can do things Montblanc dies in a considerably better manner. Hopefully, this post has been useful to you. P.S. Some people were interested in the scenes that would result if another story important character perished. I have now prepared a video showing scenes you get if you kill the hero, Ezel, Babus, Ritz and Shara. It's a video response to this one, so you should find it easily. The music that you hear in this video is from Camel's song "Ice" (album called "I Can See Your House From Here").
