Great video ! We did this trip in June 2003 and it was the hottest summer on record, rock avalanches everywhere. 65 people died on Mont Blanc that summer. The ascent to the top was brutal, to say the least. But it was a super memory for life. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Awesome video Gary. Jealous!!! Went to do Mont Blanc in June this year, this same route but didn't get a weather window. Did Gran Paridiso instead which was fantastic. Hopefully going back next summer either with a good friend whom I met whilst out in the Alps this year or with the company I went with for the MB summits course. I ran 1hr 32 for the Liverpool Half Marathon this year. Felt good on Paridiso but Mont Blanc is 800 odd metres higher. Great quality cam too. Eugene.

Congratulations Paul. I'd like to do the 3 Monts route sometime in the future. It sounds like you had a tough ascent. The conditions were okay for me.

I summited MB on june 14th this year via the 3 Monts route! I was very fortunate with an empty summit! but not so fortunate as the winds turned really bad! 50+ constant, and we had to come back across MB Du Tacul where the first avalanche hit this summer!! was amazing though :)

Great video guys, thanks for posting this. Toubkal for me this year and then definitely a 4,000 metre peak in the Alps.

Yeah, the Matterhorn would be great. I will hopefully do that in the next few years. I've got my eye on Mera & Island Peak in the Himalayas next.

Cheers Gary im having a similar Knee problem i bet ITBS working on it with physio and strength exercises, plenty of time to train still. Matterhorn next? :)

I was in fairly decent shape. I work from home so I did the P90X and Insanity home workouts. The company I went with recommend that you're able to do a half marathon in under 1h 45m. I didn't do any running though as I had some problems with my knee. It is a long old slog but its not too bad if you're prepared for it. I think 8 out of the 11 in our group made it to the summit.
