Climbing Douglas Peak Central couloir (Southern Alps, New Zealand) - Oct 2013
Mountain | reviews | videos | photos
The Bird, China and the Belgian on their big mission. Nice and firm climbing conditions on one of the classic ice line in New Zealand. Douglas Peak (3077 m) central couloir is a 600 m long ice route which was first climbed by Nick Cradock, John Davie, Colin Dodge, Rolland Logan and William Trengrove in Aug 1977. It is best climbed from Pioneer Hut (one hour approach). Enjoy and see by yourself!
