Climate change impacts on Australian alpine flora - drought might be as important as climate warming

In this film I shot at The Twins (in the state of Victoria, Australia) in January 2013, I examine the role that drought may play on the assembly processes in alpine vegetation. By and large, most research on the impacts of climate change in alpine areas focuses on (the negative effects of) increasing temperature. I outline why I think drought will be just as important a determinant of alpine community persistence in a rapidly warming world.
