Chamonix Ice Climbing - Mont Blanc du Tacul

In may 2014 we took the Aiguille du Midi cable car which takes you from 1000 meters elevation - Chamonix - into thin air: you reach 3777 m within minutes) We stayed at the Refuge des cosmiques (hut) for 3 nights and tried some of the easier ice gullies ("goulottes" in french) as Contamine-Mazeaud, Chéré and German Gully (which, in fact, wasn´t in condition at all so it turned out a sheer dry climb with not a single ice screw used... Weather was in our favour (not usual in Chamonix) with bright sun in the morning and overcast with snowfall from 2 pm. It was our first experience that high and that steep so we had a professional guide with us to complete the 2nd rope team with Paul. I forgot to bring my GoPro on the first day, on the second day I lost it half way up the route and on the third day the climbing was kind of tricky so the film turned out kind of a mix- up of all three days...
